Shannon is a true automotive enthusiast, blending his professional expertise as a seasoned auctioneer specialising in mining and construction equipment, with an unwavering passion for classic and high-performance cars.
His automotive journey began with a 1979 VW Beetle Cabriolet, the first of many cherished vehicles he has owned. Over the years, his collection has featured a diverse range of iconic models, including a Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda, Renault Alpine A110, and Volvo P1800s, alongside several Porsches, such as a 1961 356 Cabriolet and a 2018 GT3 Touring. Shannon's enthusiasm drives him to continually explore new vehicles while ensuring he makes the most of those he already owns. His interest transcends eras and borders, with a particular affinity for German and British classics. However, his occasional foray into French cars is evident in his ownership of a Renault Clio V6 Sport.
Beyond his professional life, Shannon is an avid motorsport participant, often found on racetracks or restoring classic cars. On special occasions, he can be found at renowned automotive events such as Goodwood, Classic Le Mans, or Watkins Glen, indulging his passion for all things motorised.
Shannon's collection, though curated, reflects his deep appreciation for high-quality driver’s cars. It includes a rare 1962 Porsche 356 4-Cam Carrera, a BMW 2002tii, a Mini Cooper S, a variety of Porsche 911s spanning multiple eras, and the pinnacle of his collection, a Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster. For Shannon, each car must be fully operational and ready to drive, as he believes that is their true purpose.
His expertise and enthusiasm for automobiles enrich his role as a consultant to Aspire, where he brings both industry knowledge and an infectious passion for cars.
